Aditya Chopra is the writer of the blockbuster film ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, which is considered one of the most successful films of Indian cinema. Chopra not only wrote the film but also directed it, making it his directorial debut with a movie that is considered a classic now.

Released on October 20, 1995, the movie became one of the most iconic films in the history of Indian cinema. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in lead roles, and their on-screen chemistry was loved by the audience all over the world.

The story revolves around Raj and Simran, two opposites who fall in love when they accidentally bump into each other while travelling across Europe. However, Simran’s father has already fixed her marriage to someone else, and Raj doesn’t wish to elope her.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was an all-time blockbuster and ran in theatres for more than 1,000 weeks. The film won ten Filmfare awards, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Dialogue, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Actress.

Aditya Chopra is the son of legendary director Yash Chopra. The filmmaker started his career with the legendary movie DDLJ. Chopra is hardly seen in public or giving interviews, as he’s quite a reserved man. However, he was seen giving the first interview in The Romantics on Netflix.
