    Rick Riordan is a well-known American author best known for creating the popular young adult fantasy book series ‘Percy Jackson’. Born on June 5, 1964, in San Antonio, Texas, the author is best known for the Percy Jackson and the Olympians book series.

    The 59-year-old author developed a taste for storytelling at a young age and started writing fantasy novels inspired by his love for mythology. The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series also blends Greek mythology with modern-day characters and settings.

    The series follows the adventures of Percy Jackson, a teenage demigod who learns that he is the son of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. The five-book series takes us to the challenges Percy goes through as a demigod while he embarks on an epic journey to save the world from looming fate.

    Before becoming a full-time writer, Riordan worked as a middle school English and history teacher. His first book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, titled The Lightning Thief, was published in 2005 and gained widespread acclaim and popularity among readers of all ages.

    Rick Riordan, as a prolific writer, has a gift for blending mythology with contemporary storytelling and characters, which has inspired umpteen readers to embrace the magic of storytelling.
