Interview with Author William Stevenson

HELLO WILLIAM STEVENSON, WELCOME TO WORLDAUTHORS.ORG!TELL US WHAT DRIVES YOU TO WRITE? YOUR MOTIVATION AND THE PURPOSE OF YOUR BOOK(S)?
I write because a part of my DNA pulls the need to write out of me.  My motivation is to provide a legacy for my grandson, Ricky, that would live forever because the books are based on history written on a foundation of my love for him.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE READERS WILL GET OUT OF YOUR BOOKS? HOW WILL THEY FEEL OR BE DIFFERENT AFTER READING IT?
My hope is that young and old readers will realize that famous people of history are normal human beings.  Readers learn that famous people are trying to survive in life like everyone else.  I would also hope that feelings of love between family members are to be treasured.

WHAT BOOKS DID YOU READ AS A KID/YOUNG ADULT? WHAT ARE YOU READING TODAY? HOW HAVE OTHER AUTHORS INSPIRED YOUR WRITING?
As a kid I enjoyed reading a great deal of science fiction.  However, as I got older, the author that changed my life was Ayn Rand.  The two books that influenced me were “The Fountainhead” and “Atlas Shrugged.”  These books instilled feelings of self-worth and live within me every day. The books I am currently reading are based on the life of Napoleon.

WHAT IS ONE THING IN YOUR BOOK THAT WILL SURPRISE READERS? (NO SPOILERS THOUGH!)
Readers will learn that Julius Caesar was married as a teenager.  He refused to follow the orders of the leader of Rome, Sulla, who required him to divorce his young wife, Cornelia.  Caesar was scheduled to be put to death by not following Sulla’s orders.

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON NEXT? MORE BOOKS?
I am planning a Dream Trip where Ricky and his grandfather will follow the life of Napoleon.
