Interview with Author Jenny McClain Miller & Author Gregory John Miller

Hello! We are Jenny McClain Miller and Greg Miller! We are a married writing duo and are debuting our first novel together! It launches November 1st, 2022! It is available for pre-order now at Barnes and Noble, Books a Million, Amazon, and our official website at www.ageofatheria.com
Jenny: I am originally from Iowa, I grew up there and then moved to Los Angeles to finish college. I have four degrees in Product Development, Merchandise Marketing, International Manufacturing, and Business Management. I have worked in entertainment for over 15 years, many more than that if you count my pageant years and competitive dance! In Los Angeles was when I started acting, producing, and pursing writing as a career. I have always loved to write. It is one of my favorite ways to express myself.
I am a Momma to our two sons, River (3) and Ryder (21 months), and they are so much fun! They are both so courageous, adventurous, loving, enthusiastic little boys!
Greg: Is originally from South Jersey and went to college at Seton Hall University. He was drafted in the 2008 MLB draft and was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers. After an elbow injury, his career was cut short, and he moved to Los Angeles to pursue the world of entertainment. He loves to write and has written a children’s book, called Eli the Eagle that will launch soon. He is also working on a motivational book that helps to inspire others.
WHERE DO YOU LIVE?
We just moved to New Jersey! Coming back home for Greg, and first time living on the east coast for me! We wanted to get closer to a support network of family and his is all in one place. I have family in Canada, Iowa, Texas, everywhere! So it made sense to choose here!
SPARE TIME FUN!
We love to travel, and spend time together as a family, we love the ocean and being in nature. We love to volunteer and help out within charitable causes. I love pilates and yoga, journaling and meditating. Greg loves Olympic ring work outs, and also mediating and yoga.
OUR JOURNEY:
Greg and I met at a chemistry read to play opposite of each other for a scripted TV series comedy. Safe to say the chemistry was there on screen and in real life! We started dating a few months later, and the rest is history! We took a trip together in Joshua Tree and I introduced him to a project I was working on and developing. It was the project that is now called AGE OF ATHERIA. At the time, I was developing it as a TV series pitch and had written the majority of the first season. I always knew I was going to work on this project with someone else, I just didn’t know who it was. When I introduced it to Greg, he understood it in a way that a creator did. And we started working on it together. We created a region that we head to in book two! We started pitching together, and decided we wanted to write this a novel first. So we packed up for a writing hiatus to a family lakehouse in Michigan to take a couple of months outside of Los Angeles to transfer all of our scripts into novel form. When we arrived, two weeks later, we found out we were expecting our first son!! So we decided to stay and we had River September of 2019! We got married in Philly that December! We wanted to go back to Los Angeles in the spring, and that was spring of 2020 – well the world had other plans, so we decided to stay in Michigan during the pandemic. One month after covid hit, we found out we were expecting our second son!! And welcomed Ryder December of 2020! During our time in Michigan, we finished our novel! And now it is being published out into the world! It has been an awesome journey and we are so proud to write a book together and be partners in business and in life.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU:
Jenny: I am inspired by making an impact and real, positive change – in the world and through our actions. How providing a powerful underlying message through our story, and it inspires me that we can share it with the world. My husband and sons inspire me. I want to be a Mommy they look up to and guide them gracefully. And helping them to know that anything you put your mind to, you can and will achieve it.
Greg: Waking up every day, with air in my lungs, my family by my side, and making a difference. Overcoming adversities, and hearing of other people’s journey in doing so. Our family, our children, wanting to provide a wonderful life for them and set them up for success.
WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD CONVO TO START WITH:
A great convo to start with is that we are debut authors, and a married writing duo about to launch our book on November 1st, 2022!! We are so excited! It is a YA Fantasy, with magical realism, it is dystopian/post-apocalyptic. And it sends our readers on a journey through the characters, but also their own internal journey.
SHARE SOMETHING OUR AUDIENCE WOULDN’T KNOW ABOUT YOU:
Jenny: I was on the Price is Right and won a hot tub! I was there for College Week!
Greg: My Mother is from Iceland! I am part Icelandic, and we are very close with our Icelandic roots and family.
HOW DID YOU GET INTO WRITING AND DOING THIS WORK:
Jenny: I got into writing at a young age, I have always loved it. I love to create new worlds, new characters, and tell a story with a purpose and message. I had a great opportunity to begin writing in the world of entertainment, so I started there professionally! And it has fortunately has become my work and I absolutely love it.
Greg: It all started with wanting to tell my own story to hopefully inspire others. I had a difficult segment of my life that I was able to pull myself out of, one that almost cost me my life, and I wanted to share that story in hopes that it could save someone else. So I started my motivational book. My children’s book came to me rather quickly, and it is also inspirational.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO PROMOTE:
We want to promote our debut novel AGE OF ATHERIA, and that it is launching November 1st, 2022. It is a YA Fantasy novel, the first book of the series. And it is available for pre-order now at Barnes and Noble, Books a Million, Amazon and our website. INSPIRATION BEHIND THE BOOK AND WHAT IS THE STORY BEHIND IT:
The inspiration behind our book is telling a story between light vs dark, in our way, through some of our own personal journeys, and a very powerful one as well. Our story is set in the future destruction of our present-day world, and it is our fictional story of how societies and governments rebuilt after a Great War and had the chance to do better and be better – but did not. Our story highlights the temptation in the world, greed, power, sacrificing our planet and its resources for selfish gain and monetary exploits. Losing our resources, losing sight of caring for one another, and being ruled with an iron fist. Our story has a prophecy set in motion where a Council of Light steps in and wields anointed ones across the lands to come together and join forces in preparation of the greatest battle the world has ever seen, a battle between light vs dark. The evil forces of the world have corrupted mankind, and they are about to be released across the world – and humanity has no idea. Our anointed royals have the chance to come together and raise the vibrations of humanity and become the strongest Light against the Dark.
WORKING ON ANYTHING PRESENTLY:
We are currently working on book two of the series! We are currently writing it and so excited where our characters are headed and to introduce some new royals! It is slated to release next year! We are in pre-order status of book one, so we are in the launch process and it has been exhilarating as we are debuts and finally (after 8 years) our project is hitting shelves!
GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS:
Our goal is to release each book in the series yearly! We are aiming to release book two next year, book three in 2024, and the final book 2025! A book a year! Our goal is also to deliver many messages of positive change and impact through the books. For our readers to seek knowledge, seek change, make individual and positive influences in their own lives that help elevate the collective. We are all in this together. Our aspiration is to go back to our roots and the beginning of this project and get back to pitching this as a TV series. We would love to see this story on screen and in a visual medium!
