COULD YOU TELL ME A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF AND WHAT IT IS THAT YOU DO?
Dr. Onika L. Shirley, the Founder and CEO of Action Speaks Volume, Inc. is an International Procrastination Strategist and Behavior Change Expert and she is the Founder and CEO of ASVís Orphanage Home in India and ASVís Sewing School in Pakistan. Action Speaks Volume, Inc. mission is to inspire, motivate, and empower women to live a life of great physical health, financial wealth, and spiritual prosperity around the world. We help women know who they are in the body of Christ.

HOW CHALLENGING IS IT MANAGING ALL OF THESE DIFFERENT AREAS OF YOUR LIFE?
I have learned over the years that I must find balance in all that I do. I have to schedule everything. I have learned to say no to anything thatís not taking me in the direction of the goal and in the process of saying no I say unapologetically and without guilt and self-condemnation.

WHAT DRIVES YOU TO DO THESE THINGS?
I was inspired to start my business and the missions arm of ASV because I have a passion for serving and seeing other people be and do well in life. I like to help people realize that their past donít have to be their future and regardless of what pain they may have encountered that life is still worth living. I want women and children to see that they are somebody in the eyes of God.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO HAVE SEWING SCHOOLS IN INDIA AND PAKISTAN? AND TO OPEN AN ORPHANAGE AND FEEDING CENTRE IN INDIA?
I was afforded the opportunity to connect by way of technology and saw the need and felt that I wanted to do something. Missions serves as a great vehicle for discipleship for those I am called to serve. I have also grown in my faith journey by having the opportunity to share about my personal relationship with God. The old mission work adage of ìPray, Give, Goî remains true today and I want to do my part.

WHERE DO YOU MANAGE TO FIT IN TIME TO JUST BE YOURSELF AND DO SOME SELF-CARE?
I scheduled it. I am better able help to others when I help myself first. Self care is not selfish itís necessary. I realized that in order for me to breathe to be a server I must put my own mask on first.
