The former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was not only a celebrated scientist but also an accomplished author. The missile man of India’s Wings of Fire is his autobiography which covers his journey from a small town in Tamil Nadu to becoming the President of India.
Born on 15 October 1931, in Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu, Dr. Kalam was a brilliant student despite facing financial difficulties. He joined the Aeronautical Development Establishment of the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) as a scientist.
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s career started as a newspaper vendor when he was a kid but his career flourished as he became a scientist and an engineer. The 11th President of India never owned a TV as some of his possessions include books, a CD player, some clothes and a laptop.
