Calling all bibliophiles! The 33rd edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) has officially kicked off, bringing together a celebration of literature and culture from around the world. Held under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the fair runs from April 29th to May 5th, 2024, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

This year’s ADIBF promises to be a grand affair, with a record-breaking 1,350 publishers participating from a whopping 90 countries. Notably, 140 of these publishers are making their debut at the fair, injecting fresh perspectives and offerings for book enthusiasts.

Furthermore, the event welcomes 12 new nations to the fold, including Greece, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Uzbekistan. This expansion reflects the fair’s commitment to fostering a truly global exchange of ideas and literary treasures.

Beyond the sheer number of participants, the ADIBF boasts a diverse range of activities and cultural events. Visitors can expect to engage with renowned authors, attend thought-provoking talks, and participate in enriching workshops. A dedicated section for translation professionals further highlights the fair’s dedication to bridging cultural divides through the written word.

The 2024 edition also shines a spotlight on Egypt as the Guest of Honour. Expect a rich program showcasing the nation’s intellectual heritage, literary prowess, and remarkable contributions to the world of knowledge.

This year also marks a technological leap for the ADIBF, with the implementation of a comprehensive digital payment system for the first time. This move streamlines the experience for attendees and reflects the fair’s commitment to innovation.

Whether you’re a seasoned bookworm or simply enjoy a captivating story, the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair offers something for everyone. So, if you’re in the area, don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in a world of literature, culture, and intellectual discovery.
