Dutch singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Inge Lamboo is about to enter a new phase in her career. Known for her alt-pop sound embellished with country flares, Inge embraces nostalgic songs to create a distinct musical landscape. She has gained recognition through her unique mashups and covers on social media, catching the attention of artists such as Lindsey Buckingham, P!NK, and YUNGBLUD. With millions of views on TikTok and Instagram, Inge Lamboo has quickly become an artist to watch.

Her latest release “Call Out Your Name” is from her upcoming album, This Is How The Future Sounds, and is a special collaboration with Pete Townshend. After one of her mashups went viral on Instagram—where she performed “Do I Wanna Know” by Arctic Monkeys in the style of “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac—Inge caught the attention of the legendary guitarist from The Who. What started as a spontaneous online interaction evolved into a remarkable musical connection. “Do I dare ask him to play on my new album?” Inge constantly wondered. “I spent two weeks thinking about it.” She gathers her courage and sends a message with her most indie song, “Call Out Your Name”. Two weeks later, Townshend responds with his contribution, a blazing guitar solo that he has patented. The windmill-like arm gestures from his heyday are something the listener can imagine. “His playing is very recognizable, rhythmic, and full of attitude,” she says. She solos just as fiercely alongside him. Pete is on the left, and Inge is on the right. She also points out the Morse code he hides in his guitar playing.

The result is a powerful and dynamic track where his iconic playing merges seamlessly with Inge’s emotional songwriting. This collaboration not only highlights Inge’s versatility as an artist but also proves how music can bridge generations.

Townshend shares, “It was an honour to be asked to play guitar on one of Inge Lamboo’s new tracks. I follow her work on Instagram and she is making terrific Indie-style music with some really smart twists. The guitar work on her tracks is perfectly wonderful without me, so I decided to throw some mud at the wall – in the old ‘60s style, and amazingly it worked. Inge is a special talent, we should ALL look out for her.”

On March 30th, Inge will visit Pete at The Who’s show at the Royal Albert Hall in London, where she will personally hand him the 7” vinyl of “Call Out Your Name”, which will be released on April 12th for Record Store Day. You can watch the interaction between Pete and Inge here. This Is How The Future Sounds is set for release May 30th 2025.
