It is a dream of many to become an author, but the journey seems a bit tough to them. It does not matter whether you aspire to write fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or any other genre, but it requires a lot of dedication, discipline, and creativity. Here are some of the easy steps to become an author:

    Find your Niche

It is very important to identify the genre that resonates with you so you enjoy writing it and it does not feel like a pressure to you. You can first decide by choosing between fiction and non-fiction. It is imperative to understand what you really want to convey through your work, so work on your niche.

    Develop your Writing Skills

The term ‘practice makes perfect’ is absolutely true for writing. Set a particular time each day to write so you keep polishing your writing skills. You can also go for writing courses. Your writing skills will improve by practicing more and more, so keep writing.

    Write your Manuscript

Your first draft may not be perfect, but that is an achievement if you have written it. Then, read it again and edit it freely wherever required. You need to have a gap after finishing your manuscript so you gain the power of looking at fresh perspectives.
