WorldAuthors.Org recently featured an engaging video interview with award-winning author and photographer Gary E. Smith, hosted by Lucia. In this exclusive conversation, Gary talks about his latest mystery-adventure novel, More Than You Know, the newest installment in his popular Warren Steelgrave series.

Gary explains how More Than You Know takes Warren Steelgrave back to Italy, where he is drawn into investigating a bomb threat from a radicalized Middle Eastern hate group. True to Steelgrave’s nature, the investigation becomes far more complex than initially believed, with shifting targets and high stakes. Gary also describes how Steelgrave’s unconventional alliances—with Italy’s national police, a powerful Mafia crime family, and a supportive FBI agent—play a key role in the narrative. These clandestine partnerships, he says, raise interesting questions about ethics and pragmatism when lives are at risk.

In the interview, Gary shares insights on crafting tension, building believable characters, and weaving real-world issues like terrorism, cultural conflict, and international cooperation into his fiction. He also speaks candidly about the personal journey of writing a long-running series and how Warren Steelgrave continues to evolve.

Viewers of the interview will get an inside look at Gary’s writing process, his inspiration for More Than You Know, and a few hints about what might come next for Warren Steelgrave.
