    Simon Rose is an accomplished author, writing coach, and literary consultant whose career spans both imaginative fiction and practical guidance for writers. Best known for his science fiction and fantasy novels for children and young adults, Rose has built an expansive body of work that bridges storytelling, education, and mentorship.

    His fiction includes acclaimed titles such as The Alchemist’s Portrait, The Sorcerer’s Letterbox, The Clone Conspiracy, The Emerald Curse, The Heretic’s Tomb, The Doomsday Mask, The Time Camera, The Sphere of Septimus, Flashback, Future Imperfect, Twisted Fate, Parallel Destiny, the Shadowzone series, the Stone of the Seer series, An Untimely Death, and The Order of Excalibur novels. Across these works, Rose explores themes of time, identity, ethics, and imagination—inviting young readers into richly constructed worlds that challenge and inspire.

    Alongside his fiction, Rose has written a wide range of nonfiction and instructional books for writers at every stage of their careers. These include The Children’s Writer’s Guide, The Time Traveler’s Guide, The Working Writer’s Guide, Where Do Ideas Come From?, and numerous additional nonfiction titles covering a broad spectrum of topics. His guides are widely respected for their clarity, practicality, and encouragement, offering both aspiring and established authors tools to strengthen their craft.

    Beyond his writing, Rose is deeply engaged in literary education and professional development. He works as a writing coach, consultant, and editor for authors across all genres and age groups. His professional roles have included serving as Writer-in-Residence with the Canadian Authors Association, teaching as a writing instructor at the University of Calgary, and acting as a story coach for the Alexandra Writers’ Centre Author Development Program. He has also contributed as an assessor for grant programs with Calgary Arts Development.

    Rose regularly conducts writing classes and workshops, both in person and online, and delivers tailored programs for schools. In addition, he provides a range of writing services for the business community, including website content development, social media writing, and professional copywriting.

    Through his fiction, instructional work, and educational leadership, Simon Rose continues to champion the power of storytelling—helping readers discover new worlds while supporting writers in finding and refining their own voices.
