The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has launched a new set of textbooks for Classes 5 and 8. These books are designed according to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023.
The goal of these new books is to make learning more fun, creative, and meaningful for students. NCERT aims to help children develop imagination, creativity, and clear understanding of concepts through these updated materials.
New Books for Class 8:
- Curiosity – Science Textbook
- Kaushal Bodh – Vocational Education Textbook
- Malhar – Hindi Textbook
- Poorvi – English Textbook
- Kriti – Art Textbook
New Books for Class 5:
- Veena – Hindi Textbook
- Santoor – English Textbook
Earlier, NCERT had already released new NEP-based books for Classes 1, 2, 3, and 6. These new Class 5 and 8 books are the latest additions.

Right now, the new textbooks are not available online or in bookstores, but they have been listed on Amazon.com and are expected to be published and available for sale soon.
These changes are part of India’s efforts to modernise, skill-based, and student-friendly education under the NEP 2020.
