The highly anticipated book Modi’s Mission, authored by lawyer and writer Berjis Desai, was officially launched on October 24, 2025 at a ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. The event was attended by prominent dignitaries including the Acharya Devvrat (Governor of Maharashtra), Devendra Fadnavis (Chief Minister), and Eknath Shinde (Deputy Chief Minister).
Published by Rupa Publications, Modi’s Mission explores the leadership style, governance philosophy, and public mission of India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The book traces his journey from humble beginnings in Vadnagar to his role on the global stage, and includes analytical commentary on key policy decisions such as the abrogation of Article 370, demonetisation, the rollout of GST, and other major reforms.
At the launch, Governor Devvrat described Prime Minister Modi’s rise as being “a divine arrangement”, noting how he “created his own path even in adverse circumstances.” Chief Minister Fadnavis highlighted the book’s portrayal of Modi’s mission for a developed India by 2047 and his role in transforming India’s economy and governance. Deputy Chief Minister Shinde suggested that chapters from Modi’s Mission could be included in school curricula to inspire younger readers.
Author Berjis Desai spoke of Modi’s determination and self-service: “He overcame early prejudices and false narratives through purpose and discipline,” he said, adding that “while the 20th century belonged to Mahatma Gandhi, the 21st century will belong to Narendra Modi.”
With its launch now complete, Modi’s Mission enters the public sphere as both a biography and a reflective account of one of modern India’s most influential leaders. The book is expected to spark discussion among political observers, educational institutions, and readers interested in leadership and governance.
