Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind is one of the best-selling books that has captivated readers worldwide since its publication in Hebrew in 2011 and its following English translation in 2014. The author of the book is Yuval Noah Harari, an Israeli historian and professor.

The book provides information on the history of Homo sapiens, talking about the evolution of our species from the Stone Age to the modern age. Harari is a military historian, Israeli medievalist, writer, and public intellectual.

His book, Sapiens, talks about the key revolutions that have shaped human history, like the Cognitive Revolution, the Agricultural Revolution, and the Scientific Revolution. The cognitive revolution started as old as 70,000 years ago, the agricultural revolution as around 12,000 years ago, and the scientific revolution at the beginning of the 16th century.

Harari stresses upon critical questions about the future of humanity, especially in the advancement of biotechnology and artificial intelligence. Yuval Noah Harari’s Sapiens is more than just a history book, as it is a reflection of what it means to be a human. The author encourages readers to learn from the past critically and think critically about the present and future.
