Known for his gripping thrillers that interweave history, art, and science, Dan Brown is the author of Inferno. Released in 2013, Inferno is the fourth book in his popular Robert Langdon series, following the adventures of the Harvard symbologist as he tries to solve the world’s most complex puzzles and conspiracies.

Inferno is inspired by Dante Alighieri’s classic literary work The Divine Comedy, and Brown smartly weaves elements of Dante’s journey through Hell into a modern narrative that connects to modern-day issues.

The 60-year-old American author is popular for writing fast-paced novels with some of the most important themes by including art, history, science, and mythology into it. One of the key themes of Inferno is the issue of overpopulation and its impact on humanity. The novel is filled with symbolism, drawing an equivalent between Dante’s allegorical journey and Langdon’s own pursuit.

Even though Inferno received mixed reviews from the critics, it still was a commercial success. The book was later adapted to a movie in 2016, helping the book reach greater reach and have a larger impact. Dan Brown’s books are the perfect combination of a message and a dose of entertainment, as the author keeps the readers engaged till the end.
