Writing a good book review is no less than a skill. Whether you are an aspiring writer, a literature lover, or someone who loves to share their opinions about books, writing a thoughtful review can enhance your reading experience and influence others to either pick up the book or not.

    Read with seriousness

To write a good review, one has to read actively and take notes on important points, character developments, and themes. It is beneficial to highlight quotes that connect with you the most. This way, you are not just reading a book but also engaging with the text.

    Summarize the book

It is better to start a book review with a brief summary of the book. You can start with the book title and author name. If possible, talk about the genre and the context. One of the most important things about writing a book review is writing a concise overview of the plot without giving away the spoilers.

    Share your views

A book review is not about what others felt but what you felt after reading the book. The review must share if you like the book or not. You have to be honest in the book review about the things you liked about the book and what you didn’t like.
