Violet Orlandi is a Brazilian singer/songwriter, known for her haunting vocals and emotionally charged soundscapes. Blending elements of rock, metal, and cinematic alternative music, her work delves into vulnerability, darkness, and transformation — always with raw honesty and magnetic intensity.

Born and raised in São Paulo, Violet first gained international recognition through her strikingly atmospheric covers on YouTube, amassing over 1.2 million subscribers and millions of views. Yet her true passion has always been original music, and her new album Birdeater marks her boldest creative leap to date — a visceral, cinematic journey that traces her evolution as both an artist and a person.

Produced by her husband and creative partner Ricardo Gifford, Birdeater rejects the hyper-edited polish of modern production in favor of performance-driven authenticity. Recorded with live instrumentation and minimal post-processing, the album celebrates imperfection, texture, and human emotion. “We weren’t looking for perfection,” Violet says. “We were looking for rawness and authenticity.”

Infused with her lifelong love of cinema, Birdeater draws inspiration from cult films like The Exorcist, Hellraiser, and Alice in Wonderland, weaving their surreal, unsettling energy into deeply personal storytelling. Many of the songs were written alone in her bedroom, with movies flickering in the background — each track unfolding like a scene in a psychological film.

Beyond its sonic ambition, Birdeater is an album about reclaiming power and choice in the face of pain. “Life can bring so much suffering,” Violet reflects, “but in the end, it’s up to you to decide how you’ll react — which path you’ll take. The last line of Birdeater is ‘this prison cell has a wide open door,’ and that’s what it’s all about.”

Violet Orlandi’s artistry stands as a quiet yet commanding force — cinematic, introspective, and fearless in its pursuit of truth.
