Soulful songwriter, singer and drummer Peter Kaszas has shared his latest single, ‘Turn Back’, on October 11th, 2024 via Peter Kaszas Music. The single premiered on acclaimed tastemaker EARMILK. He has received support from Jazz FM, as well as notable publications such as Fame Magazine UK, Music News, and Flex Mag to name a few. Kaszas formed part of Grammy Award winner and guitarist Al Di Meola’s band, toured all over the globe and shared stages with world-renowned artists like Gonzalo Rubalcaba. He has also collaborated with the likes of Steve Hackett (Genesis), Chiel Minucci (Special EFX) and contributed to Al Di Meola’s Latin Grammy Award-nominee album The Pursuit of Radical Rhapsody, alongside the likes of Fausto Beccalossi, and Charlie Haden. Peter is well versed in the pop arena too, as he’s part of an influential Hungarian pop band, with whom he’s performed all over Hungary, as well as on the main stage of Hungary’s Sziget Festival. Other festivals Kaszas has performed at include Marciac Jazz Festival in France, Dresden Jazz Festival in Germany, as well as Curacao Jazz Festival in the Caribbean. The Hungarian artist began studying classical percussion at 6-years-old, and was awarded a scholarship at the acclaimed Berklee College of Music, where he studied under Terry Lyne Carrington and Dave Samuels.

Peter’s sound is reminiscent of Stevie Wonder, Level 42, Brian McKnight. His sensitive and thoughtful sonic landscape is laced with themes of hope, loneliness and desire. This is further emphasised by his musical influences which include Richard Marx, John Mayer and Dirty Loops. In ‘Turn Back’, Peter showcases his singing, songwriting, drumming and production prowess, with additional production by Zoltan Bubenyak. The mixing was done by HL Studio, while mastering was handled by Barna Hidasi.

‘Turn Back’ is a soulful song filled with the sounds of a warm organ, a schmaltzy guitar and a groove-induced rhythm segment. Peter’s emotive vocals are awash with infatuation and passion, bound to sweep the listener away to a euphoric daydream as they dance along.

Peter shares: “It’s a cool groovy song about our hero who is trying to get back together with his/her lover. The words perfectly capture what I tried to express with the music.”
