Emerging electronic artist MONKyMAN has released his highly anticipated album What About Love, featuring the heartfelt focus track “Better In Love,” on October 10, 2025, via Laut & Luise.

Over the past two years, MONKyMAN’s music has earned more than 3.2 million Spotify streams, and his energetic live performances have taken him across South Africa, New York, Thailand, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Norway, Denmark, and Paris. He has also performed at major festivals including Apple Tree Garden Festival — alongside Biig Piig and Bombay Bicycle Club — and Fusion Festival, where he shared the stage with ARTBAT, Monolink, and K.I.Z.

The new album has already received praise from respected platforms such as Electronic Groove, House Music With Love, U.S. National Public Radio (NPR), and La Belle Musique.

Born in Stuttgart and now based in Berlin, MONKyMAN’s music tells stories of self-love, awakening, and truth-seeking. His sound blends hope, curiosity, and emotional honesty — inviting listeners to find light even in moments of confusion.

His early years in Namibia shaped his musical journey when he began experimenting with Fruity Loops at just 14. Since then, he has crafted a sound that’s deeply personal yet universally moving.

Drawing inspiration from artists such as André 3000, Frank Ocean, Sun Ra, Felix Laband, Quincy Jones, Bob Marley, Devendra Banhart, SAULT, and Nina Simone, MONKyMAN’s sound is as soulful as it is experimental — appealing to fans of Black Coffee, Dixon, and Parra For Cuva.

    About the Album

What About Love is a rich, emotional journey that blends dreamy vocals, jazzy textures, soulful tones, and Afro-inspired rhythms. Its standout single, “Better In Love,” is a euphoric mix of melody, shimmering percussion, and heartfelt vocals — radiating warmth and connection.

Reflecting on the track, MONKyMAN shared:

“‘Better In Love’ has been with me since 2019. It began as a simple jam I played at the end of my sets and evolved over time as I performed around the world. When I decided to include it on the album, it finally felt complete. The message is simple — walking through life with love feels better than walking with hate, greed, or envy.”

He adds that “Better In Love” closes the album just as it closed his live shows — as a reminder that love is the force that unites us all.
