Los Angeles-based dance artist Evalyn has spent over a decade transforming personal turbulence into pop catharsis. Now, she returns with her most ambitious and intimate project yet – A Quiet Life, an album that reflects the existential unraveling of modern consciousness through the deeply personal lens of impending motherhood.

Known for wrapping raw emotional intensity in irresistible melodies, Evalyn first captivated audiences as the voice behind Louis the Child’s breakout track “Fire”. She quickly established herself as both a sought-after collaborator and a formidable solo artist. Her 2018 psychedelic-pop opus Salvation explored themes of self-rescue and healing, becoming her artistic calling card.

The album’s 2024 vinyl re-release, featuring new material, reaffirmed her connection with fans who continue to seek depth beneath the dance floor.

With A Quiet Life, Evalyn pushes further into conceptual territory, drawing sonic inspiration from the dissonant frequencies of Aphex Twin, ARCA, and Grimes. Written and recorded almost entirely during her first pregnancy, the 13-track collection mirrors the physical and psychological chaos of transformation—the nausea of anxiety, the endless scrolling of modern life, and the vertigo of losing oneself while creating new life.

Co-created with some of Los Angeles’ most innovative producers, the album weaves a sonic narrative of consciousness, tension, and surrender.

As a performer, Evalyn has commanded stages from intimate clubs to iconic festivals. She has graced Coachella’s Sahara Tent with Jai Wolf, performed at The Greek Theater, and mesmerized audiences at SXSW and CRSSD. Her collaborations span electronic music’s vanguard, with artists like Dillon Francis, San Holo, Tritonal, It’s Murph, and RAC inviting her unique voice into their worlds.

Evalyn’s music has also resonated far beyond the stage, appearing in HBO soundtracks and Spotify’s most influential playlists, including New Music Friday, Young & Free, and Metropolis. Her work has drawn acclaim from publications such as Billboard, PAPER, LADYGUNN, Nylon, and OnesToWatch, reinforcing her place as an artist who straddles both mainstream appeal and boundary-pushing artistry.

With over 130 million streams on Spotify alone, Evalyn’s journey is not defined by numbers but by a fearless pursuit of honesty. A Quiet Life is her most visceral statement yet—an invitation to listeners to sit with discomfort, transformation, and ultimately, renewal. True to her artistic ethos, Evalyn doesn’t offer easy answers. Instead, she gives us something more valuable: the permission to feel everything, and to find beauty in the chaos.
