Maha Shivratri is one festival that is celebrated annually. It marks the night Bhagwan Shiv performed the cosmic dance of creation and destruction. Many of his devotees keep a fast and offer prayers to the lord. Shravan month is another auspicious month when devotees visit Shiv temples, offer water (Abhishekam), and chant mantras to get his blessings.
