Los Angeles-based dance artist Evalyn returns with her new album A Quiet Life, a project that pushes further into conceptual territory while drawing inspiration from the dissonant frequencies of Aphex Twin, ARCA, and Grimes. Written and recorded almost entirely during her first pregnancy, the 13-track record reflects the physical and psychological turbulence of transformation, the nausea of anxiety, the noise of endless scrolling, and the vertigo of losing oneself while creating new life.
Co-created with some of Los Angeles’ most innovative producers, it is her most visceral release to date, weaving a sonic narrative of consciousness, tension, and surrender.
Evalyn has built an impressive profile over the past decade, amassing more than 130 million streams on Spotify and earning praise from publications including Billboard, OnesToWatch, LADYGUNN, PAPER, and NYLON. She has also performed at high-profile venues and festivals such as Coachella and The Greek Theater.
Evalyn first captivated audiences as the voice behind Louis the Child’s breakout track Fire before establishing herself as a sought-after collaborator and solo artist. Her 2018 psychedelic pop album, Salvation, explored themes of self-rescue and cultivated a devoted following, which was later reaffirmed by its 2024 vinyl reissue featuring new material.
With A Quiet Life, Evalyn continues to expand her artistic vision. The album mirrors the chaos of change while pushing the boundaries of sound and storytelling. Her live performances reflect that same intensity, whether commanding Coachella’s Sahara tent with Jai Wolf, taking the stage at The Greek Theater, or appearing at SXSW and CRSSD.
Her collaborations include some of electronic music’s most prominent names, from Dillon Francis and San Holo to Tritonal, It’s Murph, and RAC, each recognizing her rare ability to inject raw humanity into digital soundscapes. Beyond the stage, her music has appeared across HBO programming and on Spotify’s flagship playlists such as New Music Friday, Young & Free, and Metropolis.
A Quiet Life positions Evalyn at her most fearless yet. Rather than providing easy answers, the album invites listeners to immerse themselves fully, offering permission to feel everything, in all its chaos and clarity.
