Georgia Black is an alternative R&B powerhouse from North London, inspired by iconic voices like Shirley Bassey, Etta James, and Peggy Lee. Known for her rich, soulful tone and commanding stage presence, Georgia’s career kicked off with a bang, fronting Agent Provocateur’s show-band Dirty Stop Out. Sharing stages with legends such as The Clash’s Mick Jones and Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie, she captivated audiences from Camden’s KOKO to Vienna’s Life Ball and Berlin Fashion Week.

Since then, Georgia has carved her own lane – blending her Jazz, Blues, and Soul roots with sleek, modern production. Described by Earmilk as “dripping with soulful, bluesy tones, making you feel as if you’re in a Bond movie,” she creates music that’s cinematic, raw, and timeless. Her artistic range has seen her support soul legend Omar, collaborate with Jalen Ngonda and Sofar Sounds, and perform in Punchdrunk’s acclaimed immersive theatre production The Drowned Man – where Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul famously called her “amazing” after seeing her perform. The show was also attended by Adele, Prince Harry, and even Madonna!

Most recently, Georgia’s music took centre stage in the feature film State of Consciousness, starring Emile Hirsch. The film featured five of her songs, including “Ruler” and “Kicks” – both singles from her new album Rope, alongside another standalone track selected as the movie’s focus track called “The Golden Doors”. The placements mark a powerful moment for Georgia, bridging her music’s emotional storytelling with the cinematic world.

Georgia Black Explores Power, Surrender, and Transformation on New Album Rope

Rope, produced by Nutty P, is her most daring and personal project yet – exploring power, surrender, and transformation. At its heart, Rope is about breaking patterns in love and life, finding strength in vulnerability, and learning when to hold on or let go. The title track captures the addictive pull of a toxic connection; “Ruler” celebrates stepping into your power; while “Kicks” revels in chemistry, rhythm, and release.

Through Rope, Georgia redefines vulnerability as power. Shaped by loss, love, and rebirth, the album threads cosmic imagery through real, human experience – untying the knots that hold us back and transforming them into something fierce, soulful, and liberating, tying together every chapter of Georgia’s story so far – a journey of power, surrender, and rebirth, told through a voice that’s as timeless as it is fearless.

Catch Georgia Black at her album release party on the 28th November at Jam in a Jar, London.
