HELLO ANTONIO, WELCOME TO WORLDAUTHORS.ORG! IT IS AN HONOR TO HAVE YOU HERE. CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR MUSICAL BACKGROUND AND HOW YOU GOT STARTED IN SINGING?
Since I was little, I loved writing the emotions of my heart in the form of poems. I would structure these poems as songs in my mind, reading them aloud, inventing melodies, and recording them on a tape recorder. Those were my humble and quiet beginnings.
WHO ARE YOUR BIGGEST MUSICAL INFLUENCES, AND HOW HAVE THEY SHAPED YOUR STYLE?
I’ve always admired the great Spanish-language melodic singers from the ’70s, as well as English bands and singers from the ’80s for their deep melodies. However, my style is centered around love, and I don’t try to imitate anyone. Each song represents a unique emotion.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS YOU GO THROUGH WHEN WRITING OR SELECTING SONGS TO PERFORM?
My process is quite simple. I listen to the voice of my heart, and that guides my writing and composing. I don’t follow any trends—just my heart. Then, with my team, we refine and review everything because everyone’s input is valuable.
HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A PERFORMANCE, BOTH PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY?
I don’t follow any specific rituals. For me, it’s about interpreting the story in a song and feeling it deeply. If I can touch just one person’s heart with my performance, I’m happy.
CAN YOU DESCRIBE A MEMORABLE PERFORMANCE OR TOUR EXPERIENCE THAT STANDS OUT TO YOU?
One time, I performed a song on TV, and the technical setup failed unexpectedly. I had to sing with just my guitar and voice, and the audience loved it! It turned out to be a funny and memorable moment.
WHAT CHALLENGES HAVE YOU FACED IN YOUR CAREER, AND HOW HAVE YOU OVERCOME THEM?
I don’t compete with other artists. My main challenge is to move and connect with my audience through each song. That’s my goal, and I focus on that.
HOW DO YOU HANDLE CRITICISM AND FEEDBACK ABOUT YOUR MUSIC OR PERFORMANCES?
I take it well because every bit of feedback is a learning opportunity. Ultimately, the audience’s opinion matters most—thanks to them, I can do what I love.
CAN YOU SHARE ANY UPCOMING PROJECTS OR RELEASES YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT?
Yes, I’m currently working on a new project where all the songs will be in English.
WHAT’S THE MOST REWARDING PART OF BEING A SINGER FOR YOU?
Seeing just one person moved by a song—that’s the most rewarding feeling for me.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO ASPIRING SINGERS TRYING TO BREAK INTO THE INDUSTRY?
My advice is to stay humble and always respect the audience. It’s because of them that we get to do what we love.
