On 23 July, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has launched a new edition of the book Philosophy and Action of RSS for Hind Swaraj. The book was released at an event held at the IRDT Auditorium in Dehradun, where Dhami was joined by RSS Sarkaryavaha Dattatreya Hosbole.
The Chief Minister praised the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as a disciplined and spiritually conscious organisation dedicated to building the nation. He said the book, originally written in 1951 by Father Anthony, explains the ideas, structure, and work of the RSS and also highlights the meaning of “Hind Swaraj.”
Dhami added that this book will help the younger generation understand the sacrifices and dedication of RSS members. He said Father Anthony wrote this book at a time when there were many wrong ideas about RSS, and through his honest writing, he showed that RSS is not a communal organisation but one committed to service, discipline, and patriotism.
Speaking about the role of RSS over the past 100 years, Dhami said the organisation has worked to promote cultural values, social unity, and national service. He recalled how RSS founder Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar started the organisation in 1925, when India was under foreign rule and socially divided.
Dhami also mentioned that India has now regained its pride in culture and tradition and is moving ahead with confidence under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that programs like Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, and free ration schemes are helping the poor and bringing them into the mainstream of development.
The event was attended by Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, volunteers, and many social and political workers.
