Ben Denny Mo is a British singer-songwriter currently based on the Maltese island of Gozo, where the sun, sea, and Mediterranean spirit seep into his music. Blending acoustic folk, pop, and soul with honest storytelling, Ben’s songs are shaped by love, life, pain, and the quiet art of observing others. His sound weaves raw storytelling with groove-led instrumentation, often drawing comparisons to artists like Jonah Kaken, Dave Matthews Band, and John Martyn.
His new single “September” is a vibrant love song written during a late-summer in Gozo. Capturing the bittersweet beauty of a fleeting summer romance, it’s the first taste of Ben’s upcoming vinyl EP The Norfkl Tapes, due October 2025. Primarily recorded in a local studio in Norfolk, the EP reflects Ben’s journey with dyslexia, a challenge that led him to music as a creative refuge, and features production from Jack Murphy (Youth Killed It), and Rhys Downing (Mark Ronson, The Last Dinner Party).
Known for his unconventional “2 capo” guitar style and soulful voice, Ben’s performances are both intimate and dynamic. When not making music you’ll find him working as a Chef on Gozo, feeding the soul in more ways than one.
Ben’s musical path has earned him two Record of the Week slots on BBC Introducing Norfolk and Norfolk & Suffolk, airplay on BBC 6 Music, and performances at Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk Festival, Secret Garden Party, and London’s Omeara. His story is one of perseverance, self-belief, and turning obstacles into art.
